We alert you today to a mother and three children (15, 12, 8) that have been physically abused by the husband/father for many years and are in need of our support. Several months ago the father was finally arrested and jailed for the abuse. On the guidance of Family and Children Services, the wife obtained a protective order against the abusive man. Since the incident, she has been working to make ends meet with their monthly household bills. She is managing, but the legal fees she faces are too high for her to pay. She needs representation to obtain full custody of the children and negotiate reasonable financial support going forward. The legal fees are $2,000, and we would like to help her with the cost of representation so that she is not forced to represent herself. She is also $400 behind on her utilities, and we want to help her in this area as well.
