Today, we alert you to a family of five (kids are 10, 1, and baby #3 is due in five weeks) that was forced to leave their home. They were in a lease-purchase contract until October when the owner executed a clause in the contract that allowed her to sell the property at a higher price and force the family to vacate the home. Although both the mother and father work full-time, they could not come up with the money to secure a new place and ended up in a pay-by-the-week motel.

This housing transition has devastated the family’s budget. They ended up leveraging everything they had to move into an apartment. Now they have no money for their monthly bills or moving costs this month. They are at risk of being homeless and without transportation or even food. They need $4,850 to bridge this financial gap and get on the road to recovery. This is a large Need Alert, but I feel confident that they will be able to stabilize after receiving help through this transition.
