Need 20.10 – Burn Victim Needs Support

We alert you today to an unfortunate situation. On January 9th, a husband and father of three (15, 8, 6) suffered burns on 60% of his body. He is a professional auto painter and was working an extra job painting a car after hours when there was an explosion. He was flown by helicopter to the premier trauma center in his area. There he was put into an induced coma for ten days and underwent several surgeries. He is now home, and the wife/mother is helping him with his wound care. His hands are severely injured, and he can not use them right now. The wife has been unable to work as a result, and obviously, the husband can not work right now. He is looking at the best case of six months before he can return to work and, most likely, nine months to a year. They are facing a long road to recovery. We are hopeful that within the next month, the wife can return to work, but that is up in the air at the moment.

They need help with their monthly expenses for the next three to six months. They are working on disability and other social safety nets, but the reality is that those options take months. A man saw their story on the news and tracked them down through the fire department. He decided that he wanted to pay their rent/lease to own payments of $1,500 per month for them until at least August. This incredibly beautiful act leaves them with regular utility bills and grocery expenses. We want to help them with these expenses and they total $1,500 per month. We are setting a goal of raising four months’ worth of support, $6,000. We are going to keep this Need Alert open until 6 pm ET on Monday, February 3rd. We will aggregate what we have raised at that point and begin helping them. As always, 100% of all donations go directly to relief, and your gift is tax-deductible.

Please pray for this man to be healed. Pray for this family. Share this Need with your friends and family and be an advocate for them in their time of suffering. Give to this Need as you feel led.
