Story

Good morning.

We alert you today of a need that is larger than normal. We are praying that everyone will consider this need in order to bring relief to this fellow servant of Christ.

As an ordained minister, like his father, our friend spent many years leading the Christian ministries in his home in India. Under his families watch, they’ve established an orphanage and a seminary to train uneducated clergy in the area.

He and his family relocated from India to the U.S. over a decade ago, so he could receive continued training and credentialing to teach pastoral care. Until recently, he held a position at a local hospital teaching seminarians and ministers. He and his family are also longtime members of one of our local church partner’s congregation, and have been faithfully engaged in the life and work of the church across that entire time.

Because they are not citizens of the U.S., every facet of their life remains controlled by the work visa granted him by his job (the ability for his spouse, children and him to work legally, possess a driver’s license, etc.). The paperwork for this visa must be submitted by his employer. A bureaucratic mistake in May on the employer’s part led to a temporary revocation of his visa. The employer has acknowledged the error and has worked to make things right again. However, he and his family have seen their life come to a screeching halt literally overnight. As of last night the issue was resolved. He is headed back to work today.

They have drawn from savings, cashed out the available sick leave, and the local church partner has been able to help with incidentals such as groceries. This faithful family needs some additional support to help repair the damage and get back on their feet. This would include staying current on larger items like the mortgage on their house, etc.

This is a frustrating situation for all of us because this is a family which has remained true to every requirement of the government to remain legal and are contributing members of the community. It is a real shame that someone else’s mistake is jeopardizing their ability to sustain their ministry.

We would like to help them.

3.) Make donation above.*As always 100% of your donation is tax deductible and 100% of your money, less the PayPal fees, will be applied to this specific need. You should also know that the relief will be delivered by the local church partner, not One Need.

All Need Alerts are prayed over and fully reviewed before you receive them. When you see a Need Alert from One Need we want you to have confidence that we are providing relief to a person with a real need. Furthermore, you should know that every need originates with a local church partner. Less than 5% of the Needs we work with become Need Alerts. You can feel confident that when you receive a Need Alert, like this one, that we have dug in and worked with the local church partner and the person in need. We know these people, their backgrounds, and have others that confirm these needs.
