Story

We alert you today of a family of six that is in need. The couple’s youngest child is a ten-year-old with Down Syndrome and two years ago he was diagnosed with Leukemia. He was really doing well and responding to treatment, then in early April of this year he began running a high fever. They spent then next 15 days in the hospital treating the symptoms of a very serious virus. Two weeks ago, during yet another hospital stay, they discovered that the child now has Lymphoma.

As you can imagine this family is under a tremendous amount of stress. We are working with our local partner and, as always, directly with the family. We have talked through this with the father to decide how best to help the family. They have been able to cover their bills and are stable with their normal living expenses. However, the added expenses of a two-month hospital stay are creating a great deal of financial pressure on the parents. They are having to feed the entire family while staying in the hospital and they are not sure when they will be going home.

We would like to help ease this pressure and continue to come alongside this family during this incredibly difficult time.
