Story

We alert you today of a single woman that has stage four kidney failure. She has to have dialysis three times per week and has been unable to work the past two years. Before becoming ill, she had a successful career in banking and traveled the country conducting audits on bank loans. She relies on her disability check to pay her rent. Last month the benefit check was stolen from her mailbox and cashed in a town forty miles from where she lives. There has been an investigation, and it is clear that the signature was forged and the government is now issuing her another check as she is a victim of theft. However, her apartment complex is not giving her any grace period, and they have stacked on late fees and will be evicting her in the coming weeks if she does not pay her rent. The treasury department is taking quite a while to issue a new check, and she will not have it in time to avoid being evicted. This once thriving businesswoman is now very sick and begging at her local shopping center for money. We would like to help her pay her rent.
